DC school buses cancelled

Chetwynd still running as of 7:15 am.

Dawson Creek school buses have been cancelled due to extreme cold.

A multi-day episode of very cold wind chills is expected. A bitterly cold arctic ridge of high pressure will remain entrenched over the area for several days.

North winds near 20 km/h will create periods of wind chill values below minus 40.

"Extreme cold puts everyone at risk," says our extreme weather man Sky Hammer.

"Watch for cold related symptoms: shortness of breath, chest pain, muscle pain and weakness, numbness and colour change in fingers and toes."
