A pair of fires started in Mile Zero just a few hours are being investigated, says DC Fire Chief Bob Fulton.
Approximately 10:30pm Tuesday night, the DC fire department received a report of a truck on fire in the parking lot outside Boston Pizza on Alaska Avenue.
"On arrival firefighters found a pickup truck with heavy fire in the cab and engine area of the vehicle. Firefighters made quick work of extinguishing the fire, containing the damage to the vehicle," said Fulton Wednesday, noting the cause of the fire is under investigation by RCMP and DCFR.
About two hours later the crews were called to a structure fire in the trailer park off Adams Road. Crews found a single wide mobile home, apparently under renovation, well involved in fire on arrival, with a neighbouring home being damaged by radiant heat from the fire. Firefighting limited the damage to the neighbouring home while extinguishing the main fire in the original building.
The first mobile home was extensively damaged while the neighbouring unit suffered damage to the siding and will likely be repairable.Fulton notes this fire is also under investigation.
