City of Dawson Creek not looking at mandatory masks - yet

With Dawson Creek Walmart and BC Transit making mask wearing mandatory - Dawson Creek mayor Dale Bumstead says Mile Zero isn't there - yet.

"Not yet," Bumstead confirms this afternoon, noting he saw the story that Edmonton had moved forward with decisions and that Grande Prairie was considering the move. Jasper has also made the move to mandatory masks.

"I did enquire about it, we are stil being guided by the Provincial Medical Health Officer," he says Thursday.

"I suspect it may be a topic for council very soon."

Walmart Canada announced August 12 they will make masks mandatory in stores, while BC Transit will make them mandatory August 24.
