Ministries Jacqueline Van Spronsen-Janssen notes fundraising for a new facility and location is well underway. She says that space-wise the organization is looking at a space in the neighbourhood of size of 30,000 sq. ft. to accommodate current need, and expansion in the future with needs and use.

“We have four levels here, and access is becoming more of an issue.”

Spronsen-Janssen says it is a mix of client and that right now approximately $9,000 in food and supplies goes out to those in need each month.

Northern B.C. families have highest levels of food insecurity. 17.2 per cent of households have trouble putting food on the table, according to report based on recent data.
