The accuweather control stick at the Dawson Creek Mirror says it is minus 31 out there Tuesday morning.
The sun is expected to shine bright to bring temperatures up to a brisk minus 15 today, but that might be as good as it gets.
“Wind chill is minus 34 in the morning, and minus 23 in the afternoon,” says Mirror weatherman Sky Hammer.
“Risk of frostbite, or as Pink Floyd might say, terminal frost.”
The average low for this time of year is -20.8°C, while in 1991 -43.2°C was a record.
By the weekend, the temperature is expected to return to the -5 to -7 range.
