81 new BC COVID-19 cases over weekend

80 cases in Northern Health, more than 1,000 isolating across the province.

BC reports a total of 81 new cases over the weekend, 7 of which are epidemiologically-linked.

"We have had 3500 cases to date. There are now 264 active cases. 11 people are in hospital with 3 in ICU. There are two new deaths to report. 193 people have died of COVID-19 in BC and our condolences go out to their families and friends," said officials today during Health Minister Adrian Dix and Health Officer Dr. Bonnie Henry's Monday COVID-19 update.

"81 cases is something we take seriously," said Dix this afternoon.

3043 people have recovered from COVID-19.

Numbers by region:

Northern Health – 80

Vancouver Coastal Health – 1064 

Fraser Health – 1800

Vancouver Island – 143

Interior Health – 353

Outside Canada - 60
