Dawson Creek Art Gallery set for grand re-opening this Friday

It's got a nice, new $1.2-million exterior, and now the Dawson Creek Art Gallery is inviting art aficionados and casual browsers back inside.

The gallery will hold a grand re-opening Friday night from 7 to 9 p.m. Curator Kit Fast says the Peace River chapter of the Canadian Federation of Artists will be showing off new works to kick start 2016.

"We invite you to come and enjoy the art, the food and music in our community's architectural icon," Fast said in a press release.

There are 44 members of the Peace River chapter, including artists from Dawson Creek, Fort St. John, Chetwynd, Tumbler Ridge, Beaverlodge, and Grande Prairie.

The art gallery began moving back into the iconic grain elevator in December, including taking its permanent collection out of storage.
