‘Naked Tuesday’ is the name of her new book, it’s also a bit of a mantra for writer Judy Kucharuk, and for the record she doesn’t actually get naked. Well, not every Tuesday.
Kucharuk will be at the Energy House at Northern Lights College in DC on August 23 from 7 to 9pm talking about Naked Tuesday. The book, that is.
“It will be a bit of a meet and greet, and an acknowledgement of who helped me with the book and a bit of a Q and A,” she said.
The book has been a process and some years in the works.
“Since 2012 I began telling everyone I was going to write a book. I do lots of writing and personal essay and blogging,” she said.
However, she ran into a problem common to writers – finding the right vehicle for all the words.
“I couldn’t figure out how I was going to do it.”
“The material has been gathering itself for a few years now - my perceptions and takes on others lives. The project also is a bit of an introduction about my personal backstory, where I’m coming from and how my past has helped form the premise of who I am today,” she says.
Moving past 'Naked Tuesday', Kucharuk passes another test of a writer, having more than one project on the go.
“I’m already working on another book,” she says.
